More than ever patients are presenting with complex clinical challenges. Practitioners need to have the knowledge and clinical skills to care for patients with complications and crisis in pregnancy. This course is based on AWHONN’s guidelines and evidence-based practice standards. Content will focus on physiology of the pregnant patient and appropriate nursing care for OB complications such as hypertension, diabetes, and pulmonary disorders. Other topics include legal implications related to the OB nurse, domestic violence, and substance abuse in pregnancy. Choose to attend one or both sessions.

The Kansas State Board of Nursing recommends advanced education on levels of sedation and effects of pharmacologic agents prior to administering Moderate (Conscious) Sedation. This class covers topics such as common medications utilized for adult and pediatric patients, risks involved, and patient monitoring guidelines.

This two-day course focuses on the anatomy and physiology of the cardiac conduction system. Participants will be able to identify rate, waveforms, intervals, and to analyze/interpret basic cardiac rhythms including pace rhythms. Participants will be able to describe treatments, drug therapies and nursing interventions for selected dysrhythmias.
