(Topeka, Kan. - May 27, 2010) - The 21st Annual Cancer Survivors' Day dinner will have food, fun and festivities - casino style on Sunday, June 6, at the Ag Hall, Kansas Expocentre. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner served at 6:20 p.m. Admission is free.
Cancer survivors and families are invited to the dinner celebration. A survivor is anyone who is a current or past patient with a diagnosis with cancer. The person is a survivor regardless of current health status.
The American Cancer Society, Stormont-Vail HealthCare and St. Francis Health Center will sponsor the annual Cancer Survivors' Day event.
There are more than 11 million cancer survivors living in the United States, and their ranks are growing. It is estimated that by 2020 there will be some 20 million people living with a history of cancer. With increased survivorship comes increased demand for services that help cancer patients get through their treatment.
