(Topeka, Aug. 21, 2008) - Mark E. Davis has been named director of the Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center and the Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Clinic.
Davis has more than 16 years experience in health care, of which 11 years has been in hospital management positions. He most recently was chief executive officer of the Select Specialty Hospital in Topeka, a post he had held since 2004. Prior to that he worked for Select hospitals in Okahoma City and Tulsa, Okla., and worked at the Claremore Regional Hospital, Claremore, Okla.
Davis has his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, Ill.
The Cotton-O’Neil Cancer Center, 1414 S.W. 8th Ave., Topeka, provides comprehensive outpatient cancer care services with the latest technology, including a Trilogy Image-Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) system, and a PET/CT. It is the only location in northeast Kansas to offer both. It also has an infusion center, clinical research program, genetic counseling services, and numerous ancillary services for patients with cancer and their families. Five medical oncologists at the Cancer Center provide care for patients in Topeka, and also have outreach clinics in Junction City and Sabetha.
The Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Center is the largest free-standing facility in the state of Kansas dedicated to providing comprehensive outpatient care to patients with digestive tract problems. The six gastroenterologists practicing at the Digestive Health Center, 720 S.W. Lane, offer comprehensive outpatient and inpatient consultative and endoscopic services to patients in Topeka, as well as consultative and endoscopic services at hospitals in Seneca, Sabetha, Wamego and Holton.
