Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Center Recognized for Excellence in Endoscopic Safety and Quality
(Topeka, Kan., Feb. 16, 2010) –– Stormont-Vail HealthCare announces today that the Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Center has been recognized for its quality and safety through a recognition program sponsored by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE). The ASGE Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program honors endoscopy units that follow the ASGE guidelines for quality assurance, endoscopic reprocessing, infection control and medical staff privileging. It signifies the unit’s dedication to delivering high-quality endoscopic care and that its physicians and staff have received specialized training around these principles. “We are honored to receive this special award,” said Curtis Baum, M.D., gastroenterologist and medical director, Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Center. “We are, and will remain, committed to providing exceptional care to patients needing gastrointestinal endoscopy.”
The Cotton-O’Neil Digestive Health Center, part of the Stormont-Vail HealthCare system, is one of 32 endoscopy centers in the nation to be recognized in 2010 and is only the third unit in the state of Kansas to be recognized.
