(Topeka, Kan., Oct. 16, 2007) – In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Jane C. Stormont Women's Health Center, internationally known humorist Karyn Ruth White will be the featured speaker at Stormont-Vail HealthCare's 24th annual Healthy Woman Series, Thursday, Oct. 18, at Pozez Education Center, 1505 S.W. Eighth Ave. in Topeka.
"Laughing in the Face of Change" will be White's topic. She will help audience members learn to greet change with optimism, courage and humor. When we use humor and laughter as tools for managing fear, we can begin the process of understanding, acceptance and healing. We can pave the way for positive change. One of the keys to happiness is the ability to embrace and even enjoy the curves life throws at you.
White will speak at 2 p.m. and repeat the program at 7 p.m. Tickets for both performances are all distributed.
A special health fair will be held an hour prior to each presentation in the lobby of the Pozez Education Center. The Healthy Woman Series is sponsored by Stormont-Vail HealthCare, ERC/Resource & Referral and Stormont-Vail Foundation.
