Stormont Vail Welcomes Jarett Skinner, D.O., to the Flint Hills Campus OB/GYN Clinic
Stormont Vail Health welcomes Dr. Jarett Skinner, an OB/GYN specializing in reproductive medicine and pregnancy care, to the Stormont Vail OB/GYN Rural Health Clinic, 1102 St. Marys Road., Suite 101, Junction City.
Originally from Caldwell, Idaho, Dr. Skinner pursued his undergraduate degree at the University of Idaho before attending medical school at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. While in medical school, he decided to pursue his medical career in the Armed Forces, which has enabled him to travel and experience much of the world.
The experiences and travels while in the military exposed Dr. Skinner to many different people and environments, reinforcing that there are many ways to do things.
“I think patients appreciate having time to talk with a physician and have someone listen to them,” Dr. Skinner said. Everyone has different personalities, so I try to do my best to meet my patients wherever they feel most comfortable. As long as it is medically feasible, I fully support what my patient wants to do.”
Since being stationed at Fort Riley in 2016, Dr. Skinner and his family have proudly called the Flint Hills community home. For Dr. Skinner, being an OB/GYN specialist is his calling.
“I enjoy the surgery part of my job; that is something I’m passionate about,” Dr. Skinner said. “It’s really nice, though, to have a healthy mom and baby after a delivery. I’m interested and invested in every patient that I take care of. Being able to understand what’s going on, their options, and reach the best possible outcome.” Dr. Skinner is accepting new patients at the Flint Hills Campus Rural Health Clinic. Call (785) 762-2585 to book an appointment.
Congratulations, Alicia Criger and Melissa Limqueco, July Persons of the Moment
As an integrated healthcare system, Stormont Vail Health is a network of clinics and services working together to improve the health of patients and communities across the state through coordinated, continuous care.
Recently, Alicia Criger, a clinical nurse manager at the Emporia Clinic, and Melissa Limqueco, a case manager RN at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, demonstrated what our integrated system can accomplish through teamwork. Together, they went above and beyond to help a patient injured far from home, including assisting with his return home.
Their actions show what we can accomplish by demonstrating our first tenet: “Together, we treat every patient, visitor, and team member with compassion and dignity.” For this reason, we proudly recognize Alicia and Melissa as our July Persons of the Moment.
Take a moment to celebrate their selfless support and exceptional character.
We together,
Dr. Kenagy
