Cultural Ambassadors

Stormont Vail Health Cultural Ambassadors serve as an advisory committee to Operating Committee.  Cultural Ambassadors are tasked with deeply understanding the cultural pulse and climate of the organization from both a team member and patient/customer perspective.  Cultural Ambassadors will conduct assessments of organizational needs, recommend solutions in response to concerns and ideas, and execute on actionable items that reinforce and enhance the organization’s values and Tenets. The Cultural Ambassadors serve to create an atmosphere of belonging and connectivity through the promotion of culture initiatives that positively impact Stormont Vail team members, patients and customers.

Our Focus

Cultural Ambassadors will engage in regular strategic planning efforts in order to identify key areas of focus, goals and tactics.  Goals and tactics will shift over time, and based on organizational needs, but the Cultural Ambassador’s work will generally fall into the following categories:

  • Connecting with multiple layers of team members to ensure every voice is valued and ensure a tangible response is delivered
  • Understanding and responding to possible risks and threats to the SVH culture including behaviors, actions and operational concerns that impede sustaining and, where appropriate, transforming the Stormont Vail cultural
  • Engaging in creative and strategic problem solving and the development of pragmatic solutions in support of desired outcomes
  • Formulating recommendations for development or modification of policies and/or practices that promote a sense of belonging and connectivity and support Stormont Vail’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy
  • Providing feedback and reflection on cultural and inclusivity issues in the workplace including tangible solutions meeting the organization’s current and future needs
  • Participating in initiatives and events and being the “face” of Stormont Vail
  • Serving as a communication vehicle on the group’s activities, efforts, plans and deliverables
