Dr. Tuchek Shares His Story on “To Your Health” on WIBW-TV Tonight
The inspiration that drew Dr. Chad Tuchek– a neurosurgeon with a subspecialty in neurosurgical oncology – into medicine, started through a volunteer scanning research project at school. For participating in the research project, he received a Walmart gift card. He also got diagnosed with cancer.
Dr. Tuchek will share his story on tonight’s WIBW-TV “To Your Health” segment. He will share how his own experience as a cancer survivor now reinforces his desire to connect with his patients and to let them know he understands their situation.
Dr. Tuchek joined Stormont Vail Health earlier this year and has expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques, including robotics. He provides care for patients at the Cotton O’Neil Neurosurgery and Spine Center at 2660 S.W. 3rd in Topeka.
The “To Your Health” segment featuring Dr. Tuchek airs at 10 p.m. on WIBW-TV, Channel 13. The segment typically repeats at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Fridays on 13 News This Morning and is posted on wibw.com.
Happy 20th Anniversary, Clinical Research Team!

- Collaborated with national and global research experts, including the National Institutes of Health, the National Cancer Institute, prominent pharmaceutical companies, and leading research organizations;
- Supported over 500 clinical research trials, including those for medications such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Skyrizi, Entyvio, Eohilia, Rybelsus, Keytruda, Opdivo, Imfinzi, PCV 20, Arexvy, and Kisunla.
That’s just the start. Watch our latest video to learn how our team drives groundbreaking research, enhances lives, and positively impacts healthcare.
Supply of IV Fluids Impacted by Hurricane Helene
A major supplier of IV fluids with a plant in North Carolina has been impacted by Hurricane Helene and Stormont Vail Health is closely monitoring the situation. Our supply chain team is meeting daily with our fluid providers. We continue to purchase our usual allocations as well as ordering from alternate vendors. Like other health care organizations around the country, we are implementing clinical strategies to conserve IV fluids to provide some resiliency in the supply chain.
Stormont Vail Sponsoring New KMAN Radio Show
Stormont Vail Health is a key sponsor of a new KMAN radio talk show, “Within Reason,” that is being developed by Mike Matson, a lifelong Kansan who has been involved in various aspects of communication from media to politics/government to advocacy. Gov. Laura Kelly will be the guest on the inaugural program Monday. Stormont Vail will have guests on the show each month to discuss healthcare issues. “Within Reason” will begin at 9 a.m. Monday on KMAN, 1350 AM.
