Mayo Clinic Doctor to Visit Stormont Vail Health Cardiology Team
Stormont Vail Health will host a leading expert and researcher in the field of cardiology from Mayo Clinic, for a visit with our cardiology and cardiac rehab teams this Friday at the Cotton O’Neil Heart Center. Joshua Smith, Ph.D., M.S., is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Preventive Cardiology and Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Smith will meet with our team at 3 p.m. to discuss insights in the field of cardiology and cardiology rehab.
Dr. Smith’s research interests are centered on identifying therapeutic targets within the nervous and cardiovascular systems that can improve responses to physical stress (such as exercise) in healthy adults and patients with cardiovascular disease. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Kinesiology (Exercise Physiology emphasis) from Kansas State University.
Don’t Miss Dr. Molly Disbrow on KMAN Radio – March 26
Tune in to KMAN radio tomorrow at 9 a.m. as Dr. Molly Disbrow from our Manhattan Campus appears on Within Reason with Mike Matson. She’ll be diving into important topics for Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, including gut health and the latest in gastroenterology. Listen live online here or tune in to KMAN radio at 1350 AM, 93.3 FM, or 93.7 FM.
Manhattan Campus Team Promotes Literacy – Dr. Seuss Style

At Stormont Vail Health, we know that small actions today can create significant impacts tomorrow. Earlier this month, our Manhattan Campus team showed just how powerful that can be by championing early literacy and helping shape the future of our youngest patients.
In celebration of Read Across America Week (March 2-6) and as participants in Turn a Page. Touch a Mind. (TAP-TAM) – an early literacy program serving Kansas children from birth to age five – our team dressed in Cat in the Hat fashion and shared Dr. Seuss books and fun surprises with our littlest patients.
But it’s more than just books and smiles. TAP-TAM encourages providers to start meaningful conversations with families about the lifelong benefits of reading aloud daily when their children are young. Together, we’re helping spark a love of reading – and a brighter future.
Emporia Clinic’s Chili Cookoff Spices Up Support for Local Soldiers
Shout out to our Emporia Clinic! Our team spiced up support for soldier care packages with a chili cookoff, raising $265! Thanks to everyone who cooked, judged, enjoyed lunch, or donated. It’s just one small taste of how our team supports our community members, both near and far.
