Stormont Vail Health Welcomes Karen Stadler, M.D., to the Dermatology Team

Stormont Vail Health is pleased to introduce Dr. Karen Stadler to the Stormont Vail Dermatology team. She will provide a wide range of dermatology services, including medical, pediatric, and surgical treatments, at Cotton O’Neil Asbury Drive, 2902 S.W. Asbury Drive.

Dr. Stadler’s journey in medicine stems from her family’s involvement in the medical field and her uncle’s blindness following a stroke. These experiences taught her to appreciate the importance of health and the need to consider each patient’s unique goals and circumstances.

Dr. Stadler graduated with honors from the accelerated, six-year B.A./M.D. program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine, where she excelled at the fundamentals of medicine and patient care. She felt an immediate calling to study and treat skin disorders, which can affect patients of all ages and backgrounds. After a one-year preliminary residency in internal medicine at UMKC, Dr. Stadler completed a three-year residency in dermatology at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

“Dermatology is so fulfilling,” Dr. Stadler said. “Proper diagnosis and treatment of skin disorders can drastically improve patients’ quality of life. It’s amazing to see tangible differences during follow-up visits.”

Dr. Stadler’s well-rounded training and empathic personality will promote positive patient experiences and successful outcomes. She welcomes new patients at Cotton O’Neil Dermatology on Asbury Drive in Topeka. Please call (785) 270-0187 to make an appointment.

#WeTogether Kickball!

On Friday night, Aug. 23, the Culture and Wellness Team hosted Kickball Part 2. The night consisted of a double elimination competitive, yet friendly kickball tournament complete with BBQ, snow cones, music, colleagues, family and friends. The 10-team tournament consisted of teams from Linen Services, ENT, Kanza Orthopedics, Information Systems, Human Resources, and Behavioral Health.

In the end it was Medical Imaging (Team Bone Thugs) who brought home the win over Primary Care (Team Flu Fighters). Third place went to Inpatient Rehab (Team Manual Movers) who squeaked out a victory over Nutritional Services (Team Kickin’ Kitchen).

We together,
Dr. Kenagy
